How do I create a Table using a Matrix of Fields and Field Embedding?

Objective: Create a table using a matrix of fields to show two columns side by side.

How:

  1. Start by creating a Descriptive Text field. This will serve as the main field participants complete
  2. Enable the rich text editor
  3. Create your table with the number of rows and columns you require
  4. Create a Matrix of fields and add the number of rows you need
  5. Next, embed the fields into the proper locations in the table by adding the field names into the cells and enclosing them in brackets <>

Creating a Matrix of Fields:

Testing: Test your working using different browsers as well as testing as a data entry form and as a survey to ensure the look and feel you want.

It's likely you have to adjust your table properties to get the layout you want.

Note: how the Matrix only shows up inside of the Descriptive text field into which the Matrix fields have been embedded. Any branching logic is also still respected

once a field is embedded.
